Last week we celebrated Carter's 4th birthday. He was so excited and couldn't wait. Every day for two weeks he would keep asking me when it was his birthday. It finally came and he had a fun filled day. Our tradition for birthdays is that we have donuts and chocolate milk for breakfast. After Tyler went to school we got ready for the day. I took Carter to Toys R Us to get his free toy. We were there for an hour until he finally decided on something. He did get his crown and special balloon. Everyone that saw us would tell him Happy Birthday. Carter being his shy/quiet self would just look down and not make eye contact. We are working on trying not to be so shy and nervous around people.
Carter is also at the stage that he has to know everything going on and what we are doing for the day. He drives me crazy everyday asking "So what are we going to do today?" Or, "And then what are we doing? And then what? Over and over again all day. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
After school Carter helped me make his cake. He wanted a caterpillar, so I did the best I could. The boys had fun putting the candies on. The caterpillars antenna kept falling down in front of his eyes. Tyler said "He is shy, just like Carter." I thought it fit Carter perfect and was quite funny!
That night Matt came home early and went out to dinner. Carter had a free meal at Chevy's (Mexican). They came out and sang Happy Birthday and gave him a big hat and ice cream. He was just grinning from head to toe. He had a great birthday and enjoyed being with his brothers.
