Hayden's 1st B-day!

My baby is all grown up. I can't believe that he is already one years old. Our birthday tradition is that there are balloons all over the floor in the family room and we eat donuts for breakfast. Since we don't give our children sweets until they are one years old, Hayden didn't know what to do with the donuts.  Then once he took one bite there was no stopping him. He loved it!
That morning Hayden had his doctor appt. and got 4 shots plus we had to go and get an x-ray on his ankle. They were super busy so I made an appt. for that afternoon for the x-ray. When we got home my family was sitting out on the front lawn waiting for us. I felt so bad for making them wait for us.  The cousins were excited to see each other and had a blast. Hayden on the other hand was not feeling too good and had a fever. We went back and got his x-ray on his ankle and it was okay so we didn't have to worry about it.
We had a big dinner that night with my parents and sister Katie plus her two kids.
I like to do fun cakes for my kids on their birthdays. It is something I enjoy doing, not something I am good at though! So for Hayden I decided to make a Monster cake. It was fun to put together and the boys loved helping me. Hayden didn't know what to do with it and took off the donut eyes first. He enjoyed that and went for some more. So we gave him some cake and he loved it. Then we decided it was time for the ice cream. I was so glad that I had the camera in my hands. It was the cutest face ever when he put some ice cream in his mouth.  It was too cold, not what he was planning on.
Then came the presents. His brothers had given him a sucker from the arm of the monster cake and he was more interested in it then the gifts. He did get into ripping the wrapping paper though.  That night we decided to go to a Fresno Grizzlies game (Baseball). They were having a family deal where you get all of these other tickets for mini golf, water slides, play land, etc. Plus we got hot dogs and soda. It was an awesome deal! There were a couple of other families from the ward too, so it was fun to see them. My family went with us and they seemed to enjoy themselves. I just felt bad for Hayden. He slept most of the game and then just looked so miserable. That is not the way you are suppose to feel on your birthday. Poor little guy. We had a good day and glad we were able to celebrate with family and friends.
Happy Birthday Hayden
We love you!

THE END... It's just the beginning!

Tyler just finished his first year of school. It flew by for all of us. He graduated from Kindergarten on Friday. He has grown up so much in the past year, it is crazy! He has made so many new friends and learned so many new things. He is a smart little guy and we are so proud of him. I am going to miss going into his classroom every Friday it was the highlight of my week. I loved working with the kids and being there with him. I went in this week for their Kindergarten picnic. I meant to take pictures but, I never had a chance too. They had 9 different stations outside: bike race, jump ropes, bubbles, golf, bowling, play ground, ice cream (snack), musical chairs, and ring toss. I was in charge of the ice cream station so I had it pretty easy. They had a blast. It was the first day that they actually didn't do any work and got to play. Kindergarten sure has changed since I have been there. It is so much more hard core and lots more learning. He was doing 1st grade stuff back in January. Half of the stuff I didn't learn till 1st or 2nd grade.
On the last day of school I was running late and saw one of the other moms in the parking lot. She said "I can't believe it is over, I almost cried." I thought to myself really this is only Kindergarten we are talking about. Then I barely stepped into his classroom and I lost it. I didn't bawl but I did get teary eyed. This was the last time I was going to be in this classroom and Tyler was done with his first year of school. It hit me hard and I was sad/happy at the same it. I have also made some new friends this year. It has been a crazy year with a newborn and a Kindergartner but we made it with flying colors. He is excited to move on to first grade and we have already found out who his teacher will be next year. He can't wait! Now is off to our fun filled summer.
First day of school

Last day of school.
Did you notice he is wearing the same shirt?!
I thought that was funny, but I didn't tell him.

Tyler and Mrs. B. (Kindergarten Teacher)
Tyler gave up naps at age 2 1/2. I guess a whole year of school wore him out. This is how I found him after lunch.
