Bragging!

Tyler is excelling in school. He loves it and is doing so good. He is one of the youngest in his class because his birthday is the end of August. But that doesn't seem to stop him. He is the 3rd in his class to be on times tables (he is on times 2's). I don't think I learned multiplication until 3rd grade and he is in 1st. Crazy!
Back in the fall Tyler got an award for being so good at Math. A couple of weeks ago he got another award for being the student of the month. He got a gift certificate for Tahoe Joes. When I was there for the assembly his teacher told me that his painting had also been selected to be put up in the cafeteria. So I ran over and took a picture of it.  Oh, and his spelling tests, he is passing with flying colors. Each week he comes home with 100%.
I am so proud of Tyler. He is our shining star right now. Keep up the great work Tyler. We are so happy for you.

Number 4

Last week we celebrated Carter's 4th birthday. He was so excited and couldn't wait. Every day for two weeks he would keep asking me when it was his birthday. It finally came and he had a fun filled day. Our tradition for birthdays is that we have donuts and chocolate milk for breakfast. After Tyler went to school we got ready for the day. I took Carter to Toys R Us to get his free toy. We were there for an hour until he finally decided on something. He did get his crown and special balloon. Everyone that saw us would tell him Happy Birthday.  Carter being his shy/quiet self would just look down and not make eye contact. We are working on trying not to be so shy and nervous around people.
Carter is also at the stage that he has to know everything going on and what we are doing for the day. He drives me crazy everyday asking "So what are we going to do today?" Or, "And then what are we doing? And then what? Over and over again all day. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
After school Carter helped me make his cake. He wanted a caterpillar, so I did the best I could. The boys had fun putting the candies on. The caterpillars antenna kept falling down in front of his eyes. Tyler said "He is shy, just like Carter." I thought it fit Carter perfect and was quite funny!
That night Matt came home early and went out to dinner. Carter had a free meal at Chevy's (Mexican). They came out and sang Happy Birthday and gave him a big hat and ice cream. He was just grinning from head to toe. He had a great birthday and enjoyed being with his brothers.

Easter

This year we went to our annual Easter egg hunt at the park. Every year it seems like more people find out about it. There were tons of people. It is fun for the kids because they have coloring pages, bunny ears, meet the Easter bunny, games, and of course an egg hunt. The thing that I like about it is its all FREE. The city puts it on every year and my boys look forward to it. There were a couple of other families from our ward there too.  So that made it even more fun for the kids.
Then Tyler had a week off for spring break. I tried to make sure there were fun things for him to do while he was at home. Most of the time he tells me "That's baby stuff mom". So I don't know what is cool or not. We did have a park day with some friends and went to the library one day. Then we headed up to Gma's house for a couple of days. The kids had a blast with their cousins. My sister Katie was in town from Africa, so it was good to see her. We spent most of the time outside. Little Hayden loved playing in Gma's garden so he was always covered from head to toe in dirt.
We dyed eggs with the kids and had our own egg hunt. My oldest nephew came to visit and the little kids loved it. He is so good with them too. It was fun to be with family and enjoy each others company. My three little boys are growing up so fast and getting so handsome!
Happy Easter!
During spring break Tyler lost one of his top teeth. He was so excited. Carter thought he looked like a Jack o lantern. He loves to just walk around the house with a big smile so everyone can see his lost tooth. So of course when it was picture time he had a show is teeth!
