Surprise 30th

So to finish off the month of April we have our other two birthdays. Today is Matt's 30th birthday and mine was yesterday (I only turned 29).  A couple of weeks ago I threw Matt a surprise party since he was turning the big 30. It was nice, it was just a open house so people just stopped by and visited for little bit. Only about half of the couples came so I was little bummed but enjoyed those that did show up. I made a German Chocolate cake which is Matt's favorite. There was also licorice, popcorn, nuts, and salt water taffy. It was all of his favorite snack foods. He was surprised and enjoyed himself. He has been taking it pretty hard turning 30 and hasn't wanted to except it. I don't think that it is that old but he feels like it is.

My good friend Kasey also has a birthday this month so we both went out and got pedicures together and went shopping. It was a lot of fun! Matt got a new bike that he rides everyday to work and back. With gas the way it is we are trying to save money. I have even been walking Tyler to school when I can too. Matt also bought an orange tree that he has been wanting for years. I on the other hand just wanted my boys to get along for one day. (It didn't happen!) On our birthdays we got lots of cards, gifts, visits, treats,  and phone calls. I feel very loved to have so many good friends and family that love us. Since I had made Matt and cake earlier in the month I didn't do one for our birthdays. I had a chocolate muffin on my day and made  cinnamon rolls for Matt. Plus we had other goodies people had dropped by. We are going on a little getaway this next weekend to celebrate our special days. It will be nice, we need a break since Matt has been so busy with work and school since January. We enjoyed our birthdays and looking forward to many more to come!

Three

The number 3 is magical and special to our family this month. To start off we have 3 adorable little boys! There is 3 birthdays in our family and Carter turned 3! Yes, that is right our little Carter boy is now 3 years old.
Carter is our little shy boy and doesn't like people to talk to him. He is getting better and doesn't drop to the floor and cover his face anymore. He just looks the other way! :) His little smile just melts your heart, that is when he will share it with you. We have been working on Potty Training for the past 2 1/2 months and I think we have finally made a break through. Yeah! Mommy is so excited. He is such a sweet little boy and loves his brothers. He follows Tyler around and wants to be just like him (Sometimes this annoys Tyler). He is also an awesome big brother to little Hayden. He gets down on the floor and shares his cars with him and crawls around. It is so cute to watch them.

We were at my parents house for Easter so we celebrated Carter's birthday then. He is into Cars right now so, I made him a number 3 race track cake for his cars. He loved putting McQueen on the cake and thought that was so cool. On his actually birthday we woke up to donuts and chocolate milk. He got to open his presents from Gma/Gpa Merg. they were cars and of course he loved them! Boys can never have too many cars. :) That day we went to Toys R Us for his crown and balloon. My boys look forward to go there on their birthdays.

Carter had a wonderful birthday and loves all of his gifts. Thank you to all that made it a special one for him.

Egg-citing!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter. I know our family did! Our town does a big egg hunt every year for the kids. The kids love it and and they get to see the Easter bunny. This year it was at a new park down the street. Tyler rode his bike and I put the other two in the stroller. It was a nice little walk. They had games for the kids to play, coloring bunny ears and pictures, meeting the Easter Bunny and of course the egg hunt.
They have it divided into 3 different age groups so that is fair. This year they gave out really good candy. The boys had fun and look forward to it every year. We went up to my parents house for Easter. It was also their 30th Wedding Anniversary that weekend too. So, we spoiled them with presents and took them out to dinner. My Dad is getting older and doesn't remember a whole lot so my sister took him out to get my mom some flowers and a gift. He was excited but then didn't remember the next day what it was for. It was sad, I felt bad for him.
The boys dyed eggs with their cousins and then we had our own egg hunt. They had fun together. I threw some eggs out on the grass and let Hayden crawl around and get them. He just wanted to eat them. Everything goes to mouth at his age! He loved it. I have different eggs for each of my boys so there are no fighting over which one is theirs. Tyler has the Basketball eggs, Carter has Baseball eggs, and Hayden has a mixture of Soccer and Footballs.
There was also some Drama and Stress this last weekend. I am so glad that is over and I am back home. All I have to say is I will be so glad when next weekend is here and over.

FYI: Matt has his big PE test this Friday. So we are praying and fasting for him. We are doing our fast on Friday so anyone is welcome to join us. It has been a long 4 months and we are looking forward to having our Daddy/Husband home again. Please keep him in your prayers!
